Technology for geothermal precious metal cogeneration

Pioneering the cogeneration of high value minerals alongside sustainable geothermal power

Our Mission

Aurogenic is committed to improving the economics of geothermal energy and accelerating the growth of geothermal power generation by leveraging existing generation infrastructure to create a substantial new revenue stream for operators through the recovery of high-value minerals.

We believe in geothermal energy and its unique role decarbonising the global energy sector while still providing reliable baseload power. We also believe that this is just the start and that significant additional value can be captured alongside power generation from many geothermal resources.

Aurogenic's advantage lies in both our industry background and the minerals we target. As geothermal professionals, we understand the technical and commercial realities of geothermal operations. Our technology is purpose-built around these realities, with a mission to deliver meaningful upside through the extraction of time-proven, high-value minerals with negligible operational impact.

Our Technology

What we do

What we do

Aurogenic has developed world-first technology to efficiently recover a suite of high-value minerals—including precious metals and critical- and strategic minerals—from waste geothermal power station brine.

While geothermal systems have long been recognised for transporting metals and forming epithermal gold-silver deposits, we are the first to harness these naturally occurring resources at commercial scale using practical, field-deployable process technology.

Our approach enables economic extraction even from brines containing only single-digit parts-per-billion (ppb) concentrations of gold, due to the high value of these metals and the efficiency of our mineral cogeneration process. Increasingly, we are identifying high-enthalpy geothermal systems with concentrations well above this threshold—unlocking new opportunities for geothermal operators worldwide.

How it works

How we do it

Our technology is designed to seamlessly integrate into both new and existing geothermal energy projects, operating synergistically with existing plant infrastructure and process conditions.

We utilise precisely controlled, optimised processes to leverage the unique chemistry of geothermal brines, enabling a stable, low-impact mineral recovery process. Our system operates continuously and autonomously, with modest inputs, short residence time, and minimal operational footprint.

By maintaining negligible effects on key brine parameters and generating very little waste, the Aurogenic mineral cogeneration process provides a safe, efficient and scalable solution—turning previously unused resources into meaningful, long-term value.

Our Services

Aurogenic has also developed rigorous field-tested process to reliably identify and quantify geothermal mineral resources.

Using our specialised knowledge, sampling equipment, and analytical techniques, Aurogenic provides a geothermal mineral resource delineation service to geothermal operators and academia.

This service consists of two stages:

  1. Preliminary first-pass-assessment of geothermal mineral resource prospectivity via desktop review of existing published information.
  2. Field sampling of geothermal brine by our personnel followed by sample analysis at an independent research-grade geochemistry laboratory to confirm resource grade.
