Aurogenic has developed world-leading technology to efficiently recover precious metals from waste geothermal power station brine.

Our technology is designed to seamlessly integrate into new and existing geothermal energy power projects, working synergistically with existing infrastructure and process conditions.

Aurogenic's technology can add significant additional revenue while leveraging existing geothermal power generation assets, with modest additional capex.

Our technology is inspired by nature, utilising precisely controlled process conditions.

The Aurogenic metal recovery process operates continuously and autonomously, and requires only minimal inputs. Altogether, these features result in an efficient and very low-waste process, which also only requires a relatively minor operational footprint.

Aurogenic has developed rigorous field tested methodologies to reliably identify and quantify geothermal precious metal resources.

  • Using our specialised knowledge, sampling equipment, and analytical techniques, Aurogenic provides a precious metal and critical element resource delineation service to geothermal operators and academia.
  • This service consists of a preliminary desktop assessment using existing data to screen potential geothermal precious metal resources, followed by field sampling of geothermal pipelines by our personnel.

Claire Newton

Co-founder

Claire has a life-long passion for geology, particularly in igneous petrology, geothermal geology, and geochemistry, which she pursued academically after a decade in the refrigeration and HVAC industry. Her technical experience as a senior refrigeration engineer with an EST A&B electrical practicing license provided her with expertise in diagnosing electro-mechanical systems and thermodynamics. This blend of skills has led her to the geothermal energy and mineral resource industries, where she combines her knowledge of geology, geochemistry, and engineering systems.

Claire has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from University of Otago and a Master of Science in Geochemistry from University of Auckaldnd.

Co-founder

Chris is multi-talented business professional with rich experience in professional services. Most notably, he has experience providing deal advisory services for large clients in major projects and deals, covering data science/analytics, financial- and commercial due diligence, turnaround, restructuring, strategy, and value creation. Prior to his time in professional services, Chris worked in commercial and industrial electrical and refrigeration, gaining highly valuable practical engineering skills. Chris is also skilled in a broad range of analytical, coding and programming languages.

Chris has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from University of Otago, a Professionals Masters in Accounting from University of Canterbury, and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
